On the invitation of the President, Mr. Ahmed Azeem Alvi, The Consul General of the Sultanate of Oman H.E Engineer Sami Abdullah Al Khanjari, vsited SITE Association of Industry and held a meeting with the Executive Committee and senior members of the Association.
The meeting focused on strengthening trade relations between Pakistan and Oman. H.E Engineer Sami Abdullah Al Khanjari invited Pakistani businessmen to visit Oman and explore trade and investment opportunities. He highlighted the demand for medicines, doctors & nursing staff, in Oman.
The possibility of exporting textile products, particularly garments and towels, was also discussed. The Consul General briefed members on the facilities and incentives being offered by the Oman government to new investors. It was agreed that a business delegation from Pakistan would visit Oman after completing necessary preparations and collecting relevant business material. Mr. Alvi requested the Patron-in-Chief, Mr. Zubair Motiwala, to lead the delegation. Mr. Zubair Motiwala floated the idea of establishing a “PAK MART” at the Pattern of China Mart and requested the Consul General to consider and follow up on this matter. It was suggested during the meeting that both countries should take steps to benefit from the current tariff war. Ferry service from Gwadar to Oman is also expected to become operational soon which will further strengthen maritime cooperation between Pakistan and Oman.
Chief Coordinator Saleem Parekh, SVP Khalid Riaz, VP Muhammad Riaz Dhedhi, Former Presidents Tariq Yousuf, Asad Nisar, and Abdul Hadi, Former SVP Muhammad Arif Lakhani, Muhammad Hanif Tawakkal, and Abdul Qadir Bilwani Former VP Saleem Nagaria, Muhammad Hussain Moosani, Muhammad Farhan Asharfi, EC Members Aman Naseem, Muhammad Tahir Goreja, Junaid ur Rehman, Azeem Motiwala, Abdul Rehman Fudda, Rizwan Lakhani, Tariq Rehman Fazlee and others were also present. The meeting concluded a commitment to work towards stronger Pakistan–Oman trade relations.
